Domaine de la Solitude Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is a full-bodied, intense blend of Grenache Noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault. With low yields of 25 hectolitres per hectare, this excellent estate creates a complex, yet relatively early-drinking, elegant blend, with flavours of thyme, blackberries, raspberries and spice.

The Solitude Estate belongs to one of the oldest families in Chateauneuf du Pape. The Lancon family make their wines with a very short maceration time and therefore their style of Chateauneuf is ready to drink much younger than the traditional tough wines. Their 100 acres are planted in a simplified mixture of Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Syrah together with a small proportion of white varieties. The family also owns 100 acres of vineyards at Sabran in the Cotes du Rhone.
