Winemaker Edgard Carter seeks to combine sustainable practices with innovative winemaking, to produce fruit-driven wines of real character. The aim is to deliver quality wines at fair prices, made in harmony with nature.
The grapes used to make Oveja Negra Chardonnay Viognier come from the Cuncos and Rio Bonito blocks of their San Rafael estate in the Maule Valley. The area here benefits from long warm days that promote ripening with cool nights that preserve good acidity. Their proximity to the Andes also has a cooling effect on the vines. Canopy management in the vineyard controls yields and ensures even ripening.
