GBSCAN17

New product

Gerard Bertrand 'An 1877' Saint Chinian is a concentrated, oak aged blend of Syrah and Mourvedre, made from hand picked grapes. On the nose the wine gives a rich bouquet of forest fruits and garrigue, thyme, sage and rosemary. The palate is soft and round with soft tannins neatly framing the fruit. The finish is long and mineral fresh.

Gérard Bertrand reveals in the Heritage range the history of the great terroirs of the South of France. 1877 pays homage to modern times, the revolution of the steam engine and the first railway line of Saint Chinian which made it possible to transport the wines of the region to the capitals.

One of the most dynamic and brilliant winemakers from the South of France, where he owns no fewer than seven estates among the most prestigious terroirs of Languedoc Roussillon; in 2012 ex-Rugby star Gérard Bertrand received honours for "European Winery of the Year" by Wine Enthusiast and "Red Wine Maker of the Year" by the IWC.
