|Name||Oveja Negra Cabernet Franc Carmenere Winemaker's Selection|
Winemaker Edgard Carter seeks to combine sustainable practices with innovative winemaking, to produce fruit-driven wines of real character. The aim is to deliver quality wines at fair prices, made in harmony with nature.
The grapes used to make Oveja Negra Cabernet Franc Carmenere are sourced rom the El Condor and La Esperenza blocks planted in 1998 and located in our San Rafael estate in Maule. No foliage management is required here because rainfall is low during the ripening months and soil fertility is moderate, resulting in vines with balanced vigour. The total yield is around 9 tons per hectare.
50% of the blend was aged in oak barrels (60% French and 40% American) for 8-10 months. The wine was then cold stabilised and earth filtered before bottling.
