Marc Hébrart's delicious Champagne Rosé NV is made from 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay from Premier Cru vineyards around the village of Mareuil-sur-Ay, in Champagne's Marne Valley. It has a complex, mature, biscuity nose, the result of more than 3 years lees ageing in bottle.
Marc Hébrart and his wife started making Champagne in 1963, after which they gradually increased their holdings. In 1983, their son Jean-Paul started his own small production. In 1997 the family created Champagne Hébrart by merging the two enterprises, making Jean-Paul the director of the company. Their boutique estate now covers 12.5 hectares over 65 plots at Oiry and Chouilly, both Grand Cru villages, and Mareuil-sur-Ay, Bisseuil and Avenay-Val-d'Or, which are all Premier Crus. In the vineyard, natural methods of viticulture are practised; the estate does not use chemical pesticides or insecticides.
