Moli dels Capellans Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2007 is a fine wine from the Conca de Barbera DO, in Catalonia. The wine is aged for 15 months in new French (Allier) oak barrels and 12 months in the cellar before release. Aromas are of wild berries and spices, with rich leather and liquorice. The fruit, tannins and earthy complexity define the palate, with an elegant finish.
Jordi Masdeu and Sergi Montala started this tiny operation in 2007, with the sole objective of making handmade boutique wines in the DO of Conca de Barbera, in the hills of Catalonia.
Grapes are grown between 500 and 800 metres above sea level. Jordi and Sergi work with unfashionable grapes such as the local Parellada and Trepat, often used in the production of Cava, but with tiny yields and lots of hard work in the winery, they make really interesting wines.
