Domaine des Pourthie Chardonnay 2011 is a deliciously fresh white wine from the Languedoc coast near Agde. What we love about this wine is that it combines rich buttery aromas with hints of the fresh herbs that you find growing wild in the Languedoc - a real terroir wine, bursting with ripe freshness!
Domaine des Pourthié is an estate of 60 hectares, situated near Agde in France, a few kilometres from the Mediterranean. It is now in the hands of the fourth generation of the Pourthié family.
The vineyards are located on a ridge formed during the Ice Age, where the soils are gravelly clay and limestone. The Mediterranean warmth and sea breezes combined with the terroir, help to ripen the grapes harmoniously and maximise their aromas.
The winery has recently been updated with modern equipment, leading to more sophisticated methods of vinification. The wines are classically styled Languedoc wines.
