Castello di Arcano Superiore Pinot Grigio Grave Friuli 2010 is a fat, full-bodied 'real' Pinot Grigio from Italy's border region with Slovenia. It is made organically, in this cool, mountainous region, where grapes ripen slowly on high trellises. Wonderful, fresh apple aromas and floral hints, with a fresh yet substantial palate: this is Italian Pinot Gris with a wink towards Alsace.

Key facts

The Castello di Arcano Superiore project united five small growers, who formed a 'mini-cooperative' and decided to process their grapes together in a single state-of-the-art winery, to produce a single 'super-blend'. The wines are made organically, and no animal products are used in the winemaking process.
