Patrick Piuze Petit Chablis 'Rive Droite' has been described by Jancis Robinson MW as "one of the best I can remember tasting". It is a deliciously pure, mineral white burgundy of the old school: refined, fresh, with good weight and buttery undertones. This knocks much 1er Cru Chablis for six!
After working for Jean Marc Brocard, among others, Patrick Piuze set up his own business in 2008. Patrick is an infectious "can doer" with stronge opinions. He is passionate about Chablis and seeks to maximise the terroir of each vineyard: for example, he separates out his standard Chablis into four wines from different villages, the finest of which is 'Terroirs de Chichée'. He believes in spontaneous and therefore long fermentations, the use of indigenous yeasts and a minimum of intervention. All his grapes come from old vines with an age of between 38 and 80 years old.
