Domaine de Monterrain Macon-Serrieres 2008 is made from the local Gamay grape, and this wine is proof of what lovely, light-bodied Burgundies that grape can produce. Light in colour and unoaked, the wine shows mineral, earthy cherries aromas, with a delicate, refreshing palate with enough acidity to pair well with rich cheese-based pasta dishes.

Domaine de Monterrain is a small family estate, in the heart of Burgundy's Maconnais, owned by Patrick and Martine Ferret. The estate has been passed down from father to son for 5 generations. The Ferrets take great pride in tending their 10 hectares of hillside vineyards situated, around the village of Serrieres in the Saone et Loire departement. All of the estate's grapes are hand-harvested.
